Neolithic Jars
Earthenware, underglaze.
“Siamese Swan” is a hand-built earthenware vessel inspired by ancient Neolithic pottery. Constructed entirely with coils — a method echoing the earliest forms of human craft — it honors Indigenous Armenian and broader Neolithic ceramic lineages while reinterpreting them through a contemporary lens.

The vessel’s form balances on a tripod base. The lid’s twin handles curve upward like two intertwined swan necks, symbols of duality and harmony. This mirrored pairing suggests the eternal tension and balance between opposing forces —masculine and feminine, earth and sky, stillness and motion.`

The hand’s presence remains visible in the imperfect lines and the softened symmetry of the form. In Siamese Swan, myth and material meet — its dual necks not just functional, but emblematic of unity born through coexistence. The piece becomes both vessel and offering: a meditation on balance, continuity, and the quiet persistence of ancient wisdom reimagined in clay.
